$35 Million Settlement Won in Pella Windows Class Action
NOTE: This case has been settled and we are no longer handling Pella Windows claims.
On March 15, 2019, a Chicago federal judge ordered the Pella Corporation to pay a total of slightly under $35 million for its faulty product. Of that money, $25.7 million will go to homeowners in order to repair water damage done by leaky windows.
Rhine Law Firm, P.C., in conjunction with other prominent law firms from around the country, joined this lawsuit on behalf of these consumers in 2014. These firms will be awarded $7.6 million for their work.
This decision brings an end to a long, difficult legal battle. The first lawsuit against Pella’s ProLine model windows, claiming they allowed water to enter through the frames and do damage to house walls, was filed in 2006. Many law firms came and went. An original settlement was approved in 2013, but later rejected.
