Ruth Sheehan Named a Partner at Rhine Law Firm
The Rhine Law Firm, P.C., today announced it has named Ruth Sheehan a partner in the firm.
Sheehan has been an attorney at the firm for just shy of five years, and will share in the leadership of this dynamic law office.
In addition to a host of personal injury cases the practice handles, Sheehan has played a key role in handling Rhine Law’s national class action cases on behalf of consumers, as well as its advocacy on behalf of survivors of sexual abuse in schools, camps and other facilities.

Sheehan came to the practice of law after an award-winning career in newspapers, including 19 years at The News & Observer in Raleigh. She was accepted to Carolina Law in 2010, when she had one son in high school, one in middle school and one in first grade. She practiced in Raleigh for several years before she and her husband Harry Payne Jr., former legislator and Labor Commissioner, moved back to his hometown of Wilmington to be near family – and the beach.
